Prior to this, Divine players who partied with medals lower than them would often be queued up with Immortal players, which lead to even further frustration. However, this may still not be enough. It is still an acknowledgement that Valve will be making steps in the right direction. Of course, the DOTA 2 community is not without its own solutions as well. His solution brings in the possibility of coordinated queue times to make sure that the high ranking community can all come together, at every half hour, to queue together. With the long queue times being reduced, and better quality matches, high ranked players should be able to find players to play with. We personally think that Valve could extend this even further, by gauging the top 0. Given that regions like North America have historically had problems with lower playercounts and lower numbers of players within the immortal category – you could extend it to the upper echelon of divines as well. While still not optimal, it makes sure that even in times when fewer people are playing the game, you can still have an optimized experience.

The inner workings of Dota 2’s matchmaking system remain shrouded in secrecy, and no feature is speculated about as much as the so-called.
We know that queue times have increased across the board recently, and the most significant factor contributing to this has been the stricter requirements that Ranked Roles imposes on the formation of matches. Prior to the introduction of Ranked Roles, the matchmaker had a wider pool of people to draw upon because of the few restrictions. In the past, when one or more players desired the same role, this conflict was resolved during the game itself, often with unpleasant results.
This conflict is now resolved at queue time, but a price of this is that the matchmaker is often starved for players in the least-queued roles. Usually the role most in demand by the matchmaker is Hard Support, but this is not always the case, and historically this has varied based on time of day, skill bracket, region, etc.
Players in the Fast Queue are given priority by the matchmaker, and will find matches much more quickly. In order to earn games for Fast Queue, you must elect to play with all roles selected. Playing with all roles selected will also automatically place you in Fast Queue for free. When playing solo with all roles selected, you will earn four more games for future use in the Fast Queue. When grouped as a party, players can also earn Fast Queue games if the party fulfills all roles between its players.
Two-player parties earn 2 games each, three-player parties earn 1 game each. You can earn and store up to 60 Fast Queue games.

Valve unveiled the newest update directed towards Dota 2 matchmaking system, which has been hit with several updates in recent months, with the most recent making some much-needed changes to the scaling MMR based on relative skill and the ranked game modes. Ranked Classic, which does not let you select any roles, on the other side, will replace the Slow Queue games. That issue was already addressed by Ylli “garter” Ramadani, who publicly expressed his dissatisfaction with Dota 2 in his announcement, where he unveiled he will be leaving Dota 2 in favour of League of Legends , where he looks to continue his gaming career. While Ranked Roles is by no means a perfect solution, it is a step in the right direction and the Dota 2 community seems to be accepting the changes with open arms. As far as the MMR changes are concerned, it seems like it could lead to some high-ranked players earning significantly more MMR than they did under the old system. That could, however, change if Valve introduces a new matchmaking algorithm, but since there were no announcements that would indicate that, we can expect some MMR inflation.
What effect will that have on the game and the ranked games, however, remains to be seen.
Dota 2 is losing players, which will make finding games harder for the players who are left. But it is a troubling sign for what was once the dominant force in Steam gaming. Players now have to register a unique phone number to their Steam account in order to play the Ranked Matches. This is to avoid players using multiple accounts in the game that create negative matchmaking experience at all MMR brackets, and their goal is to add a new measure to reduced spam and abuse players from joining the game.
Also, having an active primary account will have a positive effect on both Ranked and Unranked match in Dota 2.
